De Lima:Tuloy ang Laban

Senator wants to spend time with family before expected arrest

MANILA - Senator Leila de Lima on Thursday said she will not hide or evade her looming detention but has one wish: to spend the night with her family.

The senator held back tears as she announced that she will go home first to meet her family Thursday night and gather her things before she goes back to the Senate to await her arrest on Friday.

De Lima thanked Liberal Party (LP) senators Franklin Drilon, Kiko Pangilinan, Bam Aquino and Risa Hontiveros for standing by her during her time of need.
She added she will leave it to her lawyers to use any legal remedy against the questionable issuance of the arrest order.

A Regional Trial Court (RTC) ordered the arrest of Senator Leila de Lima for her alleged involvement in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) illegal drug trade.
Presiding Judge Juanita Guerrero of Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 204 signed the order to issue an arrest warrant against De Lima.
